PORI-BAR PORIKOLPONA (2025)

Pori-bar Porikolpona is the second full-length drama directed by Adnan Soykot and produced for Bongo OTT. The film features Saad Salmi Naovi, Anika Kamal Aira, Abdullah Rana, Rosey Sidiqqi, and Irfan Hayum in key roles.

The story centers on Fahim, a young man eager to settle in America with his parents. However, the family’s limited English proficiency presents a major challenge. To address this, Fahim hires a private tutor, whose arrival unexpectedly shifts Fahim’s perspective, prompting him to reevaluate his dreams and confront harsh realities.

Through nuanced storytelling and strong performances, the film explores themes of ambition, cultural identity, and the difficult decisions faced in pursuit of a better future.

ALADINER PRODEEPE JEVABE DOITYO ELO (2024)

Aladiner Prodeepe Jevabe Doitya Elo marks Adnan Soykot’s debut as a director in full-length fiction, produced for the renowned Bangladeshi OTT platform Bongo. Written by acclaimed screenwriter Rabi Ahmed, this magical-realist drama weaves together elements of fantasy with the everyday challenges of urban life.

The story follows Adnan, a 27-year-old job seeker who moves into an old house in Old Dhaka and discovers a mysterious lamp reminiscent of Aladdin’s legend. One night during a blackout, he rubs the lamp—only to summon Zinia, a modern-day fairy offering him three wishes. Skeptical yet tempted, Adnan makes his first wish for a job and lands a position as a sales manager at a suspicious real estate firm. As he grows closer to Zinia, he uses his final wish not for wealth, but for love—only to realize that even magic has its limits.

Starring Partho Sheikh and Mariya Hossain Shanto, APJDE offers a whimsical yet emotional reflection on ambition, love, and the cost of desire. After a successful premiere on OTT, the film was later released on YouTube through Bongo’s official channel, where it quickly surpassed 1.3 million views, earning wide praise from young audiences.

PUROSKAR - THE PRIZE (2023)

Puroskar marks the directorial debut of Adnan Soykot — a psychological short fiction that blurs the line between reality and illusion. Inspired by a story by Satyajit Ray and written by Rabi Ahmed, the film explores the fragile tension between creativity, obsession, and perception.

The story centers around Angshuman, a young realist painter who rejects abstraction and surrealism in his artistic philosophy. Determined to create a perfect representation of reality, he works tirelessly on a new painting for an upcoming exhibition. After several failed attempts, he finally completes a piece titled The Somnambulist and submits it just in time.

But upon returning home, he discovers the same painting—physically present in his own room. In shock and frustration, he tears it apart. Days later, a letter arrives announcing that The Somnambulist has won first prize at the exhibition. But if the original wasn't submitted… then what was? The mystery deepens: was it all real, or just a hallucination?

Visually minimalist yet emotionally layered, Puroskar delves into the inner world of an artist losing grip on certainty. The film was officially selected at numerous national and international film festivals and won multiple awards, including Best Film and Best Experimental Film at the One Leaf Film Festival in Kolkata, and the Jury Special Award at the Mon Premier Film Festival in Paris.

THE EYES (2025)

The Eyes is a 3-minute psychological horror short that breaks from Adnan Soykot’s usual narrative style, embracing minimalism and experimental storytelling. Created within strict limitations - one character, one location, no dialogue! The film explores a quiet descent into obsession and delusion.

The story follows a man who dines alone, wiping sauce from his face like blood. As he approaches a photograph of a woman on the wall and praises her eyes as “delicious,” the film slowly unveils the sinister truth that a lifeless body hidden in the room’s corner.

Blending visual horror with psychological tension, The Eyes is a compact but unsettling study of desire, madness, and the thin line between love and consumption.
