Adnan Soykot served as the Creative Director for the official theme song music video of World Population Day 2025, commissioned by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of Bangladesh, and produced by Poribar Unnayon Songstha (FDA).
The project visualizes this year’s national theme “Empowerment of Youth” (তারুণ্যের ক্ষমতায়ন) through compelling storytelling around family planning, reproductive health, and youth-focused initiatives. Shot across multiple locations, the video highlights FDA’s grassroots programs and promotes inclusive awareness across Bangladesh.
An Ethnographic Exploration of the July Uprising 2024 through Graffiti and Street Art

This ethnographic short documentary captures the powerful visual resistance that emerged during the July Uprising 2024 in Dhaka, Bangladesh. For the first time in over 15 years, the city’s walls became the canvas of a people’s movement—covered in graffiti and street art that voiced urgent messages of protest, grief, and collective defiance. These images reflected not only resistance against political authority but also a cultural rebellion against enforced silence. Directed by Fatema Amin, the film blends personal testimonies, archival footage, and rich visual storytelling to portray a generation that found power in public expression. Adnan Soykot served as the Assistant Director and Editor of the film, contributing to both the on-ground production and the post-production process, helping shape the documentary’s visual language and narrative tone.
As part of Anirban 2023, an annual cultural initiative by the Bangladesh Army, Tora Sob Joyodhoni Kor is a music video documentary directed and edited by Adnan Soykot. Commissioned by the Bangladesh Army and filmed at the Barishal Cantonment under the 43 Infantry Division, the project offers a stirring visual portrayal of military life—its discipline, dedication, and unshakable sense of mission. Through powerful imagery and emotionally resonant music, the documentary celebrates the strength and unity of those who serve, capturing the essence of commitment and resilience that defines the Army’s spirit.
The Last Leaf is an ongoing documentary project that explores the emotional and cultural journey of a disappearing indigenous language, told through the lives of its final speakers. Executive produced by Adnan Soykot under the banner of Khirki Films, the film is directed by Shajnin Rahman, the first female director to join the Khirki Films creative team.
The project was selected for the prestigious Exposition of Young Film Talents (EYFT), a development grant and workshop initiative by the Liberation War Museum, and received the Research & Development Grant at the 12th Dhaka DocFest (2024).
Adnan Soykot’s role as Executive Producer reflects Khirki Films’ commitment to socially engaged storytelling and cultural preservation.The film is being developed with support from the Kharia community of Barmachara, alongside the core Khirki team.
Tongue of Fire: Women of Jagannath University is a documentary directed by Adnan Soykot, produced by Jagannath University on the occasion of International Women’s Day 2023. The film is a tribute to the resilience, voice, and contributions of the women who shape the university from students and faculty to administrative staff and workers. Through powerful interviews with the institution’s first female Vice-Chancellor, along with women deans, teachers, and students, the documentary captures a broad spectrum of experiences and aspirations. Bohnishikha stands as both an archival record and an inspiring reflection on womanhood within one of Bangladesh’s historic educational institutions.
